A Bit Behind and sorting out

Well I am posting today in a little trouble, i was suppose to post regularly for the SSCs 2011 but have been a little sidetracked with organising or should say reorganising my house to enable my nearly 4 year old (New Year's Eve is her birthday) her own bedroom by Christmas.  You could say that I am a bit of a hoarder, collector or have great ideas but haven't quite got around to fullfilling those ideas!!!!

So I have been working on my SSCS gift but I think have over committed to what I dreamed about.  No need to worry I will have something in christmas wrapping by the end of the week, lucky I have a couple of DVD's that need watching........

Thanks for reading and I will see you on the otherside

3 months till Christmas!!!!

Wow, its hard to believe that it is just 3 months till christmas, that means my little Madster will be 4 years old the week after, OMG!!!!!!!

One of my challenges before christmas is to complete my secret santa gift for Chookyblues Secret Santa Swap 2011.  It has to be something that I would like, that has lots of love, time and effort in it and would be lovely to open on Christmas day.  Also a decoration that has been hand made.

So my challenge is to secretly stalk some blogs, see if I can work it out, make it and not tell anyone till after christmas, I am really looking forward to this and I have to confess i have started!!!!! Yipee, progress.

New Project

This is a look at my latest project, I had purchased some wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills and wasn't sure what to do with it.  I had seen this pattern on a few different blogs and thought I would have a go.  I have used the pattern from Attic 24 again - here is the link http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/08/the-ripple-ta-dah.html.  I have 283 chain and will see how many more stripes to do, I have a couple of other colours to add (ordered today).

These are my latest hexi's for the swap - nice and bright!

WoooooHooooo!!!

WoooHoooo, I finished the crochet flower cushion!!!!

I am pretty happy with the result, although I think it maybe a little too full, suppose to be a cushion not a ball, but that's ok!

It was fun to watch the flower take shape and not a complex pattern at all to follow.  Will have to practice by doing another one - I think this one needs a partner!

Let me know what you think?

Work still to be done!

Front complete!

Wow, this is a little ta dah moment really! I am really amazed at how easy it was to complete and that in 29? rows I only had to undo one (pretty impressive I can follow a pattern after all).  Now the work needed to complete: 1. Sew in all the ends that are on the wrong side. 2. Complete the pattern for the back. 3. Make an insert as I wasn't able to locate a circular cushion insert (shouldn't be too hard, two circles sewn together and stuffed!!!). 4. Assemble said pieces.....wish me luck!

I am hoping that once it is stretched a bit it will spread the petals a little.

Then I should be able to get back to my hexies..........unless I do another one - VERY ADDICTIVE!

See you on the other side!
